First hike of the season!

We hiked our first M hike tonight. It was fun, tiring and a lot of hard work.
The kids did great, and made it to the top in record time.
Jon had to stop and wait for me, but we made it eventually.
I love looking down on my city from the M. The views are just gorgeous!

I can't wait until September!

Another view of UM and my beautiful city!

So pretty!

Differences...

The differences in my children always make me smile. It is Saturday morning, we are being lazy, just trying to catch up on a few household things before a soccer game later, and the kids are just hanging out. Well, Gabe and Beth are, Michaela is at a sleep-over. It is a beautiful sunshiny day already, and Bethany is spending her morning outside, playing basketball in the driveway. Gabe, however, has sequestered himself down in his room, reading a book. They are soooo different, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Bridges, Badgers and Epaulets (aka, the promised Crossover pics)

Backwards order, but oh well.
Jon and I with Gabe after joining our new Troop.

Crossing over the bridge. Leaving our Pack.

Me removing Gabe's Cub Scout epaulets.
He received new ones from his new Troop.

Gabe's parent gift. They turned out so nice!

Waxing eloquent

Today was our last family camp with the Cub Scout pack we've been a part of for the last four years. Through that time, we have seen the Pack change and grow, and go from struggling along to being a thriving group of boys. Along the way, we have had the opportunity to volunteer alongside some amazing people. Mark and Suzanne, thanks for the friendship, love and support, as well as the willingness to go that extra mile. We're looking forward to continuing the story together. Ed and Adrien, you have helped so much to make sure that things run smoothly, while not losing sight of the important part of why we do what we do: the boys. Mike and Robin, what can I say besides thank you for giving of yourselves and your time to make the Pack a great place for our boys to be. And all of you, thank you for making our Scouting experience a great one! We love you all. Best of luck in the next step along the journey.

Wrinkly noses!

For months the girls have been bugging me to get a wrinkly nose picture, and since Jon and Gabe are genetically unable to wrinkle their noses, that means it's just us girls. I was having Jon take some other pictures of me and the kids for Mother's Day, so I had him shoot a couple of wrinkly noses while he was at it. So here is the infamous Wrinkly Nose Picture.

Just keep swimming...

We are still plugging along at this thing called life. I (Becca) am still looking for a job for the fall, but I am confident that the right thing will present itself at the right time. The kids are winding down the school year, soon the library books will be due for the last time this year, the textbooks will be turned in, and then we'll hit summer! Summer will bring lots of great fun for the Meek family, we hope! Hopefully, I will have time to blog a little more, and work on getting those pictures that I keep promising posted!! Until then, we'll just keep swimming...
